Police Photography Exhibit & Community Dialogue
The Arts & Equity Initiative of the City of Portland will host “Thin Blue Lines: Police Photography Exhibit and Community Dialogue” on April 3rd. The exhibition will be in Portland’s City Hall Chambers Gallery on the 2nd Floor, and will be on view from 4:30 to 6 pm, followed by Community Dialogue from 6 to 7 pm. The exhibit includes the photos from the Arts & Equity Initiative Police Poetry and Photo Calendar. Photographers include David Wade, Jeff Swanson, Kate Philbrick, Rose Morasco, Rachel Morales, and police officers Off. Chris Mitchell, Off. Gayle Petty, Det. Mary Sauschuck, Off. Karl Geib and Off. Friday Nights in March at the Museum of African Culture
Friday, March 27th, the Museum of African Culture will host “Friends of Africa,” a slide show and discussion with Deb Locke called “To Timbuctou and Back: Among the Many Cultures of Mali & Burkina Faso.”

Calling All Young Artists!
Would you like to be featured at the TIME Gallery in the Kids’ Korner? We are seeking submissions from Hour Exchange Kids, ages 1 to 17 who like to paint, draw, doodle, scribble and create! Send one piece of art on 8.5” by 11” paper. (We will frame in a simple black or blue mat frame.) Also, send a short 1-2 paragraph bio about yourself and a picture of you doing something fun and creative, or just looking cute to Lesley at HEP, 85 Grant Street, Portland, ME 04101. Ask your mom or dad for help! We need submissions for First Friday Art Walks including March, April, May and June, and again next fall!
